Prepare to Shine

Over the past week we have been looking at self assessment tools to identify potential employment opportunities, it’s  now time to look at some practical steps and training you can look at to make your choose path a reality.

We are in the midst of a great global pause, here in Australia we are lucky enough to be starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel regarding the pandemic. However the impact this has had on the economy and our job market is far from over. Unemployment has risen from 5.2% in March to a forecasted 8% for April and growing to a peak of about 9%* We know from previous Defence Families surveys that the unemployment rate for Defence Partners is about double that of the national average.

So which sectors are still hiring?

Professional and Business Services followed by Health have the highest number of jobs* and are expected to provide the most opportunities for job seekers in the recovery period.

How do I best prepare myself for tackling a tight Job Market?

There are many different courses and training opportunities being provided now by different organisations and education providers, so have a look at what’s on offer and see what works best for you.

All the best
