Who is Defence Bank?

We are a bank who is member-owned and who re-invests our profits into improving products and services to benefit our members. Our members include the men, women and families that make up the Defence Community. We consider it a privilege to serve those who protect us. To deliver on this, we need a team of passionate, dedicated and resilient individuals who are committed to making a difference for our members. We have a large network with 39 locations across Australia.

Our commitment

Defence Bank are committed to partnering with the Defence Community to support the employment of partners of those in the Australian Defence Force (ADF). We understand that the life of a Defence familyoffers unique challenges such as Defence postings, and deployments and we lookto support our families and Defence partners wherever possible.

We have a number of our staff who have connection to Defence through their partner actively serving, ex-serving, having a parent or child who is or has served in the ADF or having previously worked in the ADF. This is very beneficial for the bank as these staff understand first-hand the challenges that our members experience and can offer unique solutions to enable our members to do their banking easier.

Recruitment Support

Our People & Culture team have a good understanding and knowledge of the unique challenges for Defence partners and are dedicated to working with the local recruiting manager to broadly advertise vacant roles, including advertising on the websites of our partners, such as DFA. Defence Bank doesn’t use CV/Resume screening technology; we take the time to read the application of each individual who applies for a role with us.
