Defence Families of Australia (DFA) has been advocating for the families of current serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) members since 1986.
DFA’s role in the Defence community – including senior Defence leadership, governments, policymakers and families – is outlined in our Charter.
Over recent years, we have heard feedback from families and Defence members that they are unclear about DFA’s role, and how we can help. We hope this video helps answer some of the community’s questions.
We encourage you to share this resource with families new to Defence, your local Defence community, Defence leadership, and other Defence stakeholders.
We are grateful for the professionalism, advocacy and care for the community of previous National Consultative Group of Service Spouses (NCGSS) and DFA appointees for building the foundation upon which we continue to strengthen today.
