National Policy Officer

Defence Families Australia (DFA) is looking for a National Policy Officer who can help shape policy that impacts Australian Defence Force (ADF) families nationwide.

What You’ll Do:
– Assess and interpret policy changes that may impact Defence families and make relevant recommendations for policy amendments
– Drive, develop and support strategic planning initiatives, policy strategies and advocacy strategies
– Use effective communication to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
– Part Time and Flexible location / Work from Home with occasional travel

What You’ll Need:
– Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in policy, or demonstrated relevant work experience
– Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to varied audiences
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong organisational skills
– Lived ADF experience or a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by Defence families (desired, but not essential)
